It was a day to remember for Stawell trainer Dane Smith, jockey Fred Kersley and the winning connections of Golden Authority, with the five year-old claiming the Colac Gold Cup.
Smith’s group of owners bought the son of Authorized to win the Colac Cup and the dream came true.
For Smith it was a well-executed plan that paid off perfectly, while for Fred Kersley it was his first country cup victory since relocating to Victoria.
