The third annual Basketball Day Indiana will be celebrated across the state Jan. 19, 2018, with games ranging from two high-profile, high-school matchups at Bankers Life Fieldhouse to IU at Purdue to the Indiana Pacers against the Dallas Mavericks and more.
In all, 14 hours of hoops at locations around the state will celebrate all Hoosiers’ love for the game of basketball.
“Last year, schools and fans throughout the state told us they wanted to be a bigger part of Basketball Day Indiana,” FOX Sports Indiana senior vice president and general manager Jack Donovan said in a release. “So we’re taking our cameras beyond Indianapolis — to Elnora, West Lafayette, Terre Haute and more — and providing high schools throughout the state with Basketball Day banners, to make this a true statewide celebration of the sport.”
The girls high school matchup at Bankers Life Fieldhouse will take place between Class 3A Northwestern and Class 4A North Central, and the boys between Class 4A Zionsville and Class 4A Warren Central.
Butler’s matchup with St. John’s at Hinkle Fieldhouse will also play a part in the day, as will Valparaiso’s game against Northern Iowa and three high school games at North Daviess. One of those three matchups has yet to be announced, but the boys matchup that has is between Class A Barr-Reeve and Class 2A North Daviess. The girls is between Class 3A Vincennes Lincoln and Class 2A North Knox.
